I have always believed that a good bookkeeper is more than just an accountant with a sharp eye for numbers. A bookkeeper has to be an office administrator, a planner, and an accounts manager. As someone with more than ten years split between office management, finance directing, and managerial accounting, I believe that I am a strong candidate for this position at XYZ.
I am an extremely fastidious person in all aspects of my life, and I have found this quality essential for bookkeeping and accounting. While obtaining my associates degree in business administration, I was the bookkeeper for three campus clubs, as well as the student library. I found that my passion lies in providing viable, practical financial planning and assistance for important causes and companies.
I understand that this job is also about thinking ahead and seeing the big picture. I expect that as your bookkeeper, I would be focused not only on recording cash receipts and bank deposits, but on annual budgets, tax audits, and financial growth or decay. My previous experiences at ABC and DEF have taught me to be focused and detail-oriented in a fast-paced work environment.
I think you will find that I am knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced in all the necessary requirements. I also have extensive knowledge of the GHI accounting software on both Mac and PC. I have been interested in XYZ since I read the article on the QRS project in the Economist last June, and I believe that I would make a good fit for your team.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you in person.
